Volunteers for Community Development (VOCOD) is a non-governmental organization N.G.O., a not for profit registered charity based in the Volta Region of the Republic of Ghana. Purely youth-volunteer based working mainly in the rural settings to bridging the gap between the urban- rural communities, rich and poor, the somehow normal and the mentally derailed, abled and disabled, young and old and men and women to foster harmony, growth and development towards the achievement of the Millennium Development Goal of Africa. VOCOD’s head office is currently located in Ho Municipality, the Volta Regional capital. Our programmes and projects are purely youth-volunteer based and sector integrated in Education and ICT, Health and HIV/AIDS, Food and Agriculture, Eco-Tourism and Recreation, Micro-Finance and Commerce, Forestry and Environmental safety, Science/ Technology and Sports and lots of integrated community-based development initiatives bringing a holistic approach to Africans problems. Our targets: rural communities, youths, women and children’s groups, vulnerable and deprived, clubs and societies, associations and unions, public institutions with common self-help project that fall under the umbrella of our objects.

Mission: Volunteering is what we pledge in all aspects of life to our dear community, nation and world. Service to man-kind is a powerful and real phenomenon which we understand and employ in our daily endeavors. Instill the spirit of self-volunteering into the youth to take up self-help initiatives aimed at child, women, youth and African community development through “smart” but holistic integrated objectives and African environmental friendly strategies for the positive-exploitation of naturally available materials and human resources towards African community development. Our Objects: To promote volunteerism amongst the youth through community development initiatives in the rural settings To educate and train the youth on Information and Communication Technology programmes To engage the youth in Health and HIV/AIDS programmes To provide Food, Security, Water and Sanitation services for the community To Empower Women through Self-Help initiatives To Aid Victims of natural and man-made disaster To Protect, Conserve and improve upon the environment
